Body composition more important than BMI

The BMI can give a false impression of the nature of health. There are more important metrics.

A study published this year in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition on the Ratio of body fat mass and lean mass to total mortality, is free for all to read, and the results confirm what most Breaking Muscle readers already know. BMI is not a good indicator well-being or physical fitness. In the study, higher fat mass was associated with a 50% higher risk of death compared to lower fat mass.
